Last year around this time I answered a call to direct a documentary film. When I spoke with the producer, I was offered the job of pretending to be a documentary film director of a film pretending to be a documentary instead. Much like Judas’ betrayal in exchange for a few pieces of silver, I set aside my search for truth and embarked on this strange journey.
What I discovered along the way is that “the truth” is whatever we want it to be. All it takes is a general consensus and a tall tale becomes the real story. Romulus and Remus were the founders of ancient Rome. Were they not?
As far as I’m concerned, the information contained in this blog is a fiction masquerading as nonfiction. Everyone portrayed in these short films is an actor reading from a script. If the story presented here seems truthful, it’s because you interpret it that way. We all want to believe in something.
